Sr. Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Analyst to support our payment client's Security Operations team in the safeguarding of of IP and customer data 

Duration:6 Months

Location:Toronto (Hybrid, 2x week)

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-orientedData Loss Prevention (DLP) Analystto join our Security Operations team reporting to Manager, Security Operations. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and responding to DLP alerts and events to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access, leakage, or loss. This role plays a critical part in safeguarding our organization's intellectual property, customer data, and compliance posture. Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise-wide DLP solutions across endpoints, email, web, network, and cloud environments. Investigate and triage DLP alerts/incidents to determine their nature, severity, and impact. Serve as the escalation point for complex DLP incidents, performing in-depth analysis, root cause identification, and remediation coordination. Collaborate with stakeholders (including but not limited to Legal and Compliance) to assess data protection requirements and recommend policy adjustments. Assist in the tuning and optimization of DLP policies to reduce false positives and improve detection accuracy. Coordinate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and IT teams to respond to and remediate DLP violations. Maintain and update documentation of DLP policies, procedures, and incident response activities. Participate in periodic audits, compliance reviews, and risk assessments related to data protection. Stay current on evolving threats, data protection technologies, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS).

Must Haves:

Cyber Security and DLP experience (5+ years)DLP Technologies (Purview, MS Defender, Palo Alto DLP– nice to have: Abnormal & Proof point email security)  Experience designing, implementing, and managing DLP solutions, not just maintenance, ability to operationalize  Excellent communication – collaborating with stakeholders and other team members  Previous experience in Finance Services – nice to have
