This is a newly created role with a Financial Markets giant who is looking to bring in a VP level Security Engineer focused on hardening their operating systems and ensuring secure configuration.

This is a pivotal role sitting within a highly technical and highly established global Security Engineering function. This person will be responsible for secure configuration, ensuring all systems, software, and networks are safeguarded against cyber threats in line with CIS Benchmark; acting as a bridge between IT Infrastructure teams and Security.

This is a crucial position within their Tech Transformation program, where you’ll not only act as a technical SME ensuring secure configuration but also play a central role in setting out the wider secure configuration compliance strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Drive continuous hardening of operating systems and secure configuration.
  2. Facilitate and define the monitoring and enforcement of secure configurations for on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure and applications – e.g. SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS.
  3. Ensure systems, software, and networks are safeguarded against cyber threats by implementing and utilizing the CIS Benchmarks.
  4. Collaborate with teams outside of Security Engineering to drive security objectives and Secure by Design principles.

Key Requirements

  1. 5+ years’ experience working in a dedicated Security Engineering role with a significant background/knowledge of Operating Systems (Windows/Linux), Networks, and IT Infrastructure.
  2. In-depth knowledge of CIS Benchmarks and other hardening standards.
  3. Ability to interact and collaborate closely with wider technical and non-technical teams to drive security objectives.
  4. Vision to set out the strategy for future secure configuration compliance strategy.
