Senior Security Architect

Working at our iconic office in King’s Cross, London, and virtually via Microsoft Teams

Your new role At NewDay

As a Security Architect at NewDay, you will ensure that security meets the needs of the organisation and that security services are designed, delivered, and supported as an integral part of our business and platform.

You will articulate security principles in a fast-paced agile environment and deliver security architecture with a balanced influence/use of process and standards security architecture frameworks.

  1. Collaborate on plans for cloud-based solutions, including but not limited to transition strategies, bundling (multiple cloud offerings) strategies, risk assessment, and roadmap planning.
  2. Develop and maintain enterprise-level security design/policy to be used in development, infrastructure or any other technology project.
  3. Develop, maintain, own, and regularly update security architecture artefacts and views, including technology stack, information flows, solutions and services.
  4. Implement and design API Security, Container Security, Azure and AWS Cloud Security.
  5. Work with multi-disciplined teams to develop security-related procedures and guidelines that support information security policies.
  6. Oversee and provide assurance that security requirements are set and implemented as part of change projects.
  7. Work together with InfoSec Information Security Risk and Compliance team to embed requirements, coming out of risk assessments, into the Information Security Architecture.

What you’ll bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:

  1. Working experience as a security architect, from an end-to-end perspective, across different business domains.
  2. Solid understanding of distributed systems design, building for resilience and cloud security architectures.
  3. Experience working with autonomous agile teams.
  4. A high-level understanding of security principles, control frameworks, threat modelling, and cloud security risks.

And would love you to know or learn:

  1. Understanding of the Payments industry and embedded finance.
  2. Background working in Service Provider or SaaS Platform.
  3. Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks and standards, e.g. PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR.
  4. Experience in software engineering.
  5. Working knowledge of Identity services, single sign-on (SSO), OAuth, OpenID Connect and SAML.
  6. Secure Development, CI/CD, and DevSecOps.
  7. Relevant certifications such as SABSA, TOGAF, CISSP, CISM.
