Contract: 12 months fixed term contract
Salary: £27,000-£29,000 per annum FTE
Hours: 15 hours per week

Community charity Groundwork South has a unique opportunity for an energetic, people-focused, self-motivated Senior Project Officer to join our Communities Prepared team in an exciting community resilience project being delivered in partnership with the Kent Resilience Team.

Summary of role: Communities Prepared is our flagship England-wide community resilience programme which provides training and support to community volunteers and the wider public – helping them to build their confidence, skills and knowledge to prepare for, respond to, and recover from various threats, including severe weather events amplified by climate change.

Working closely with the national Communities Prepared team and partners in Kent and Medway, as a Senior Project Officer you will generate interest and participation in the project, developing and delivering bespoke training and support tailored to local needs and interests. This is a key role working in partnership with voluntary organisations, local authorities and others to help increase local resilience for communities in the borough of Swale who are at risk of flooding and other climate-related threats.

As a member of the Communities Prepared team, you will have access to a range of tried and tested engagement approaches and community resilience resources, as well as support from experienced colleagues throughout the project.
