Senior Cloud Security Engineer


Salary:up to £100,000 + bonus + benefits

Location:UK – Remote


This company is undergoing a major cloud transformation and is looking for aSenior Cloud Security Engineerto help shape and secure its modern cloud infrastructure. You’ll work across engineering teams to design scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and embed best practices from day one.


You’ll be joining at a pivotal time as the company invests heavily (multiple hires!) in scaling its cloud security capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex security challenges, enjoys cross-team collaboration, and wants to influence how secure, scalable systems are built in a fast-moving, AWS native environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Apply software development and security engineering expertise to design secure, scalable cloud solutions.
  • Develop and maintain security baselines for cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS), including automation for configuration scanning and remediation.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on cloud security within engineering, providing guidance during design reviews and threat modelling sessions.
  • Harden Kubernetes environments and enforce secure cluster configurations.
  • Secure and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, with a focus on Terraform.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in cloud security, with deep expertise in AWS.
  • Strong background in secure infrastructure design, cloud-native security controls, and automation.
  • Solid programming/scripting experience (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Go) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • In-depth understanding of Kubernetes, service meshes, API gateways, and secure API design.
  • Ability to operate independently, take ownership of security initiatives, and drive continuous improvements.
