Security Engineer - 12-month Fixed Term Contract - Law Firm


An international law firm is looking to hire an experienced Security Engineer on a 12-month fixed-term basis to support a central unit who are responsible for the firm's security service.

This role is to enable the delivery of improvements within the Information Security function. We require a Security Engineer to provide additional resources to close the gap on audit findings (raised by both client and ISO audits), improve maturity across security controls and deliver the security target operating model.

This opportunity is akin with an engineering or analyst practitioner for project-led and BAU technical tasks at hand, day to day (on the command line or in application config portals). For example, hands-on configuration across the different security platforms, working with Cloud and on-prem AD, EntraID, M365, working on SIEM logic and configs with MSSP, scripting/coding, and troubleshooting configurations day to day.

Hybrid/Location: 2 days per week in the City of London

Salary: £70,000-£80,000


Responsibilities:

  • Support the continuous improvement of security tools and solutions
  • Support the integration of new IT security and introduce tools to enhance capabilities for routine security testing activities
  • Develop and deploy automation to streamline Security operation tasks
  • Identify areas of cybersecurity improvements
  • Conduct reviews of existing tools and processes, locating gaps and areas for improvement


Experience required:

  • Hands-on technical support experience in IT and Network Security engineering or Systems Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability working with IT System Administration of Azure (Security Centre), Defender (ATP), M365, and Windows (on-premise Active Directory)
  • Security monitoring, SIEM tooling such as Exabeam, QRadar, Splunk,k, and Sentinel.
  • Senior experience with security management and incident response across SOC, Malware Ransomware, Threat/Analytics, Server, and Endpoint security
  • Strong experience in programming/scripting languages such as: Powershell (preferred), Python, Perl
