Where will you be working?

At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a leading role in delivering our tech-enabled future.

We provide full network cycle services for fixed, private, and mobile operators. This role is within ourPrivate networks, focusing on technology management, asset handling, and system refreshes. With 24/7 network operations, we ensure smooth functioning and perform comprehensive repair and maintenance to keep systems optimal.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be part of the Network Engineering team, supporting network security architecture operations. A good understanding of IP network architectures and security is essential. The role involves office hours, with an on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours support. Travel to customer sites in Warwickshire, Wokingham, and data centres across the UK may be required.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Providing technical support for network security infrastructure.
  • Monitoring network performance, ensuring system availability and reliability.
  • Troubleshooting complex networking issues across multiple systems and layers.
  • Performing network maintenance and upgrades, including patches, service packs, and security configurations.
  • Planning, designing, and implementing network security measures to protect systems and data.
  • Conducting system audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance.
  • Collaborating with IT teams to integrate security protocols into network operations.
  • Deploying and maintaining security devices like firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and VPNs.
  • Responding to security incidents, including post-event analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Staying updated on cybersecurity threats and security technology advancements.
  • Developing and enforcing policies for network access, monitoring, and incident response.

What You’ll Bring

  • Professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in network security, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, routers, switches, and related devices.
  • Expertise in security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
