Are you an experiencedCyber Security Consultantwith expertise ingovernment and defence security requirements? Do you have a passion fordelivering secure solutionsandguiding complex projectsfrom inception to implementation? This is an exciting opportunity to work onhigh-profile bids and security strategieswithin theMinistry of Defence (MOD) and Government environments.

Your Role & Responsibilities

Lead security strategyfor new business bids, ensuring solutions align withMOD and government standards. Providetechnical security guidance, working closely with architects and technical teams to incorporateappropriate security controls. Conductrisk assessmentsusingHMG IA Standard 1&2, ISO 27005, and NIST 800-30, applying security controls fromISO 27001, NIST 800-53, and CIS frameworks. Own and developSecurity by Design (SbD) approaches, transitioning fromaccreditation to assurancein line withHMG and MODrequirements. Collaborate withinfrastructure, network, and service architectsto definesecurity architecturesand recommendphysical, procedural, personnel, and technical controls. Implement and advise onthrough-life security measures, including: Patch and vulnerability managementAuthorisation and authenticationProtective monitoringIncident managementMalware and boundary protectionEngage with key security suppliers(e.g.Tenable, Splunk) to selectappropriate productsand securecompetitive pricing.Develop transition plansin collaboration with programme management, identifyingsecurity-related risks, assumptions, and dependencies. Respond tosecurity-related bid questions, craftingcompelling and compliant responsesfor successful submissions.Own and manage security resource estimatesfor bid submissions.Lead security negotiations and client engagement sessions, ensuring security concerns are metefficiently and effectively. Support compliance withJSP 604 Network Joining processesfor secure network integration.

Key Skills & Experience Required

Extensive experience in cyber security consultingwithingovernment or MOD environments. Strong understanding ofgovernment security standards, assurance processes, and SbD approaches. Proven ability todevelop and implement security strategiesforcomplex projects. Hands-on experience withrisk assessment methodologiesandsecurity frameworks(ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, CIS).Experience collaborating with technical architectsto align security controls with infrastructure and network designs.Thorough understanding of security lifecycle management, includingpatching, monitoring, incident response, and malware protection.Ability to engage with suppliers, evaluate products, and providecost-effective security solutions.Experience leading security bid submissionsand responding toMOD/government security questions. Strong experience withJSP 604 Network Joining processes.Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skillsto drive security initiatives forward.
