Security Architect – SC Cleared | £750/day | Remote/Hybrid | Public Sector Contract
We are currently seeking ahighly experienced SC-cleared Security Architectto support a critical government project. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the cutting edge of secure architecture design within a high-impact public sector environment.
Role Summary
As a Security Architect, you will lead the design of secure systems and services, influence senior stakeholders, and contribute to the strategic development of security principles. You will be the escalation point for junior architects and will play a key role in shaping security patterns across large, complex microservice-based environments.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical design of secure systems and services
  • Develop vision, strategy, and principles for security architecture across projects
  • Justify and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Influence decision-making across large teams and departments
  • Produce reusable security patterns and support quality assurance
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and security stakeholders across departments
  • Provide insight into complex security needs and risk implications
  • Be the point of escalation for lower-grade security architects

️ Required Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated expertise in designing secure system architectures
  • Deep experience withAWS cloud infrastructure
  • Strong understanding ofMongoDBandPostgreSQLwithin secure environments
  • Proven experience working with systems thatencrypt and secure sensitive data
  • Ability to review, analyse, and improve existing security solutions
  • Experience with large-scale, microservice-based infrastructure
  • Monitor and review technical analysis across multiple problem sets

Communication & Influence

  • Effectively communicate security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Influence policy and contribute to security requirement evolution
  • Translate complex risk into actionable design decisions

Essential Requirements

  • Active SC Clearance(must be current and valid)
  • Proven background in public sector or government department roles
  • Expertise in secure-by-design principles across large-scale platforms

Pay Rate: £750 Per day Umbrella
Contract Length: Initial term with likely extension
