SCADA Engineer – Industrial Automation (Contract, Outside IR35)

We are working with a global engineering consultancy to support the delivery of a major automation and infrastructure programme based in Coventry. They are currently seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer to join the team on a 6-month contract, working within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

About the Role:

As a SCADA Engineer, you’ll be involved in the design, configuration, and optimisation of SCADA systems for a large-scale industrial or infrastructure client. The role includes hands-on work with SCADA architecture, integration with PLCs and field devices, and ensuring secure, scalable performance across complex control systems.

You'll collaborate closely with controls engineers, software developers, and project leads to deliver robust automation solutions in a live project setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and configure SCADA systems, ensuring robust and scalable architecture.
Integrate SCADA platforms with PLCs, HMIs, and field-level instrumentation.
Apply cybersecurity principles and industry best practices to system design.
Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to support full project delivery.
Optimise existing systems and support troubleshooting and commissioning activities.
What We're Looking For:

Proven experience in delivering SCADA solutions in industrial or utilities environments.
Hands-on expertise with Wonderware / InTouch, Siemens WinCC, or Ignition.
Strong understanding of industrial protocols, PLC/HMI integration, and network security principles.
Experience in sectors such as infrastructure, utilities, or process automation is highly beneficial.
Contract Details:

Rate: £45–50 per hour (Outside IR35).
Duration: 6-month initial contract.
Location: Coventry – full-time on-site during onboarding, with hybrid working (minimum 3 days on-site) available after familiarisation.
