At ArcelorMittal (AM), we are looking a Risk Management Specialist to join us at the forefront of the steels industry. As part of the Global Assurance team, you shall be part of a team of experts based in London 



The Risk Management Specialist is an expert in risk assessment and in risk management methodologies, including understanding of risk mitigation techniques. His/her role is to facilitate the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management framework by ArcelorMittal business units / segments / clusters / business divisions / corporate functions and support them by providing tools and training for a sustainable, best in class risk management process.


So, what will you do?


As a Risk Management Specialist within the Group Risk Management function, you will be required to: 



  • Promote risk management across business units / segments / clusters / business divisions / corporate functions, maintaining and facilitating implementation of ArcelorMittal’s Enterprise Risk Management framework. Ensure continuous collaboration with management, discuss risks at all levels for correct reporting to the stakeholders, in line with the Group Risk Policy and framework.
  •  Drive risk awareness and capability building, design and deliver structured learning programs aligned with specific risk competencies within a risk competency framework. Leverage the Global Assurance – Group Risk Management online functional risk management academy to provide accessible, scalable, and interactive e-learning modules.
  •  Pursue areas of improvements for further enhancing the Risk management process and continue to work on the actions to improve the risk management processes. Facilitate consistent 1 st / 2nd line application of Automated Risk Management Platform to enhance visibility and efficiency across the group. 
  • Ensure compliance the Audit & Risk Committee charter and Global Assurance charter, covering the roles and responsibilities of Group Risk Function. 
  • Facilitate virtual and in person risk management awareness sessions, training and knowledge sharing forums to embed a strong risk culture across business units / segments / clusters / business divisions and corporate functions. 
  • Assure that key risks are adequately described, assessed, evaluated, and documented by: 

    •  Interacting with business units / segments / clusters / business divisions and corporate functions 
    • Continual oversight and evaluation of risk data within automated risk management platform 
    • Conducting research to assess the severity of risks and frequency of risk (statistical analyses) 
    • Understanding business plans risks and opportunities


 Propose recommendations to the risk owners (management) in relation with their risk exposure. Take over specific assignments delegated by the Group Head of Risk Management

Qualifications



  •  University degree or master’s in Risk Management, Finance, Business Law, or a related field. 
  • Relevant certifications (Preferred but not mandatory) Certified Risk Management Professional (CRMP) / Financial Risk Manager (FRM) / Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  • Advanced level in English


Experience



  • 10 years’ experience


Required Skills



  • Steel and mining business acumen.  
  • Understands Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) frameworks (e.g., COSO ERM, ISO 31000. 
  • Understands the internal environment of ArcelorMittal and its implications for risk management practices. 
  • Knowledge of Three Lines of Defense (3LoD) model in its application of risk governance. 
  • Understands how the external environment influences ArcelorMittal and the implications for risk management practices. 
  • Capable of: 

    • Analyzing complex risk data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights. 
    • Critical thinking to assess risk exposure and propose mitigation strategies. 
    • Assessing and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements. 
    • Quantitative and qualitative Risk evaluation techniques (Risk matrices / heat maps). 
    • Understanding of different risk categories. Giving precise indications, having a clear vision 
    • Stimulating the buy-in of various parties: General Management, the organisation's departments, teams, correspondents 
    • Courage: prepared to raise difficult topics with leadership, challenge received wisdom and prepared to question the status quo, to ask “why?” and “what if?”.
    • Encouraging relationships of trust and convergence around commonly accepted objectives
    •  Easy, clear, and convincing written and oral expression Sharing information in a transparent manner, whilst maintaining the necessary confidentiality 

  • IT literacy: MS Office (advanced proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, Excel) Database management, risk management systems, 
  •  Data analytics and visualization – Ability to interpret and present risk data effectively. 
  •  Basic understanding of cybersecurity risks and IT frameworks
