Are you a experienced professional ready to drive strategic change and lead a small, dynamic team in our large organisation? Mitie is seeking an experiencedGovernance, Policy, and Performance Managerto enhance our governance frameworks, risk management policies, and performance processes. Reporting to the Head of Governance, Compliance, and Risk, you'll play a crucial role in managing compliance, minimising risk, and identifying best practice improvements to boost operational performance.


We're looking for someone with a proven track record in regulatory requirements and risk management processes, who brings a proactive approach to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.


Please note :This role is not a financial risk management position within the corporate structure.


What You'll Do:

  • Lead the way in Governance and Risk Management:Develop and maintain robust governance frameworks, ensuring we meet regulatory requirements and adhere to company policies. You'll conduct risk assessments, implement effective control measures, and identify areas for improvement through regular reviews.
  • Become our Subject Matter Expert:Stay ahead of the curve on the latest trends in governance, risk management, and ESG. You'll provide expert guidance, identify emerging risks and regulatory changes, and update our frameworks and policies accordingly. You'll also participate in group audits covering Business Continuity, ESG, and risk management.
  • Champion ESG Strategy:Lead the integration of sustainability, ethical practices, and corporate responsibility into our governance and risk management frameworks. Ensure compliance with ESG reporting requirements and conduct regular assessments.
  • Drive Performance and Policy Management:Track key performance metrics, share valuable insights with management, and ensure adherence to our procurement policies. You'll conduct policy reviews, deliver training, and manage the rollout of any new requirements.
  • Collaborate and Innovate:Work seamlessly with teams across the business to ensure consistent processes and foster a strong culture of compliance. You'll promote awareness of key policies and identify opportunities for improvement, maintaining accurate and relevant guidance content across our internal and external platforms.


What You'll Bring:

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience inProcurement, Risk Management Compliance ,or a related field (certifications in risk management or compliance are a bonus).
  • Demonstrable experience inprocurement, governance, risk management, and policy development.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and P2P systems; a MCIPS qualification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex information and provide clear insights and recommendations.
  • Proven project management and stakeholder engagement skills is essential
