Join a nationally recognised, Top law firm at the forefront of legal excellence. Based in the heart of Manchester, our client is seeking an experiencedRisk and Compliance Managerto play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the firm’s risk and compliance frameworks.


About the Role: As theRisk and Compliance Manager, you will report to the firm’s COLP and be responsible for overseeing all aspects of regulatory compliance, risk management and internal policies. This is a strategic role, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and has a passion for ensuring best practice and regulatory integrity.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the firm’s compliance with SRA Standards and Regulations and other relevant regulatory frameworks.


Act as a key point of contact for internal teams and external regulators on compliance and risk matters.

Lead on internal audits, file reviews, and compliance training.

Manage AML, GDPR, conflicts of interest, complaints, and data protection policies.

Work with partners and senior leadership to continually develop and improve compliance procedures.

Monitor and report on risk across the firm, implementing effective mitigation strategies.

About You:

Previous experience in a similar compliance or risk role within a law firm or regulated legal environment.


Strong working knowledge of SRA regulations, AML legislation, and data protection requirements.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to advise and influence at all levels.

Highly organised, analytical and proactive in approach.

Legal qualification or compliance certification (e.g. ICA) is desirable but not essential.
