Act as the Compliance subject matter expert on the Code of Practice for Approved Persons (APER) as it applies to SJP’s ARs. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues overseeing AR compliance and investigate potential breaches. Oversee SJP’s internal Approved Persons policy and support the authorisation process. Support the Regulatory Engagement team in coordinating and leading regulatory interactions, including meetings and information requests. Collaborate across Compliance, Legal, Risk, and Operations to prepare for regulatory submissions, audits, and reviews. Draft, review, and manage regulatory correspondence and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Keep senior management and stakeholders informed on regulatory developments and ongoing actions.

We’re looking for a proactive compliance professional with a deep understanding of the UK regulatory landscape who can act as a trusted advisor across the business. You’ll be confident engaging with senior stakeholders and regulators, able to navigate complex issues with sound judgement, and passionate about maintaining SJP’s high standards of integrity and governance.

Skills & Experience:

Essential Criteria:

Deep understanding of FCA and PRA regulatory frameworks, in particular APER, SM&CR and the Appointed Representatives regime. Demonstrable experience in Compliance, Risk, Audit, or Regulatory Affairs within financial services. Proven experience managing regulatory relationships and responding to interventions. Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with credibility at senior levels. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.

Desirable Criteria

Experience working within or with Appointed Representative networks. Strong drafting and communication skills for regulatory correspondence. Experience supporting complex regulatory projects or investigations.
