We are looking for a Privacy Analyst with information governance and data legislation skills to join our talented and innovative team.



This role sits within the Information Governance Team. The team oversee data protection and information governance within our business and are positioned inside the Optum UK Security Function. Supporting the Senior Security and IG Compliance Manager and working with other IG Analysts, you will be responsible for ensuring information is processed in a way which is compliant with regulations and legislation and that risks to data have been assessed and mitigated.

What you’ll do:

You will work to ensure all uses of confidential data within Optum UK have been appropriately assessed for risk and that all staff who may handle or process data are aware of their responsibilities.


Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include;

  • Ensuring Optum UK policies that relate to data privacy are current and accurate
  • Reviewing DPIAs (data protection impact assessments) to quantify and assess any risks to confidential information
  • Maintaining Article 30 artefacts for GDPR compliance.
  • Designing and delivering IG training to colleagues within Optum UK
  • Embedding IG processes and awareness across the business
  • Mitigating Information Governance risks
  • Providing advice and guidance using knowledge of DP Regulations and IG Policy
  • Support senior management and provide support to governance forums






Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Experience of working within Information Governance
  • Analytical and logical thinker
  • Legal/DPA/GDPR qualifications
  • A good knowledge of Data Protection legislation
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Able to communicate effectively
