Principal Cyber Security Consultant (This role is available part-time or full-time)

Location:Bristol or Bath (there is expectation that on average two days per week will be spent on site at Abbey Wood) Bristol or Corsham


Role Requirements:I am seeking an experienced cyber security consultant to join our client's team and engage in a diverse range of client projects within the defence, national security, and research sectors.

  • You will be responsible for leading technical delivery teams, shaping and carrying out complex technical work, leading technical input into bid work, engaging with clients to define the scope of work for new projects, and supporting other cyber security professionals in their career development.
  • To deliver this outcome, you must be passionate about cyber security and able to appy your deep understanding and experience of HMG, NCSC, and international cyber standards.
  • The role will require excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to build the trust and support necessary for successful outcomes with customers, as well as lead cyber teams.
  • You will join a team of highly skilled professionals dedicated to safeguarding technologies and systems, many of which are critical to UK defence and national security.


About YouWe’d love to hear from you if you can demonstrate significant expertise in at least one of the following two areas:

  • Provision of security governance, risk and compliance (GRC) advice for complex systems / scenarios
  • Securing OT (Operational Technologies) with knowledge and understanding of challenges, particularly within military platforms and/or Critical National Infrastructure (CNI)
  • Knowledge of HMG/ MOD Secure by Design principles is essential.


Must be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Successful stakeholder engagement
  • Previous experience in scoping and shaping work
  • Experience in leading cyber tasks involving cyber and / or multi-disciplinary teams
