Job Description

Job Title: Pre-Sales Consultant

Reports to: Pre-Sales Manager

Role Type: Permanent

Location: Home Based or Office Based (e.g. Manchester/Leeds/Birmingham/Kidderminster/London/Redhill Offices)

Hours of work: M-F 9-5:30 (This is negotiable, part time/compressed hours considered)

Summary and purpose of the Job:

The Pre-Sales Consultant is responsible for understanding the approved Wavenet technical portfolio and client requirements in order to produce proposals and quotes in response to a defined scope from customers and partners.

This is an associate role as part of a team of technical specialists who are at the forefront of existing and emerging technologies, promoting the value of Wavenet solutions to both our prospective and existing clients.

The role has potential for progression to a pre-sales solution architect role once experience and capability can be demonstrated.

Responsibilities (but not limited to):

The extent of your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Understanding scope to propose a suitable solution from the portfolio.
  • Prepare proposals for approval through the Wavenet bid review process.
  • Draft the technical design and solution description documentation for a bid or proposal based on standard portfolio documentation.
  • Assist in the production of bids, proposals and tender responses including solution design, solution pricing, and Partner engagement.
  • Working with other technical specialists in a collaborative manner to pull together multi discipline solutions.
  • Follow internal governance process for solution and cost sign off at all required levels.
  • Preparing presentations on behalf of architects or specialists so that the architect or specialist can then present these at client meetings.
  • Support creation of appropriate pricing schedules for contract submission.
  • Take active interest in the Wavenet and wider industry IT services offerings as they develop.
  • Working to agreed timeframes and deadlines.
  • Attend training to maintain and grow appropriate skills.
  • Periodically review Wavenet Security Policies to ensure full compliance with current legal, regulatory and company requirements.
  • To be compliant with health and safety company policy and legislation.
  • Carry out any ‘ad hoc’ assignments as and when required.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience working in the UK IT Services market and the requirements of Wavenet customers.
  • Understanding of industry best practice for appropriate technologies.
  • Understanding of customer environments, requirements and solution designs in the portfolio area relevant to the role.
  • Experience of contributing to proposal documentation and/or technical bid responses.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Team worker who can contribute within virtual team across sales and technical functions.
  • Willingness to demonstrate flexibility with working hours where required to meet customer deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritise accordingly.
