Thrive Oldham are delighted to be working with our Client in the Leicestershire area who are actively looking to recruit a Operational Support Assistant.

What you will be doing:

The role is agreed at 3 days (up to 30 hours but flexibility on how / when), this position is at grade 8, pp15

Key requirements/skills required of this role are:

Experienced in Administrative processes and procedures.
Customer facing environment where assessment of requirements and timely action is required.
Ability to complete data analysis and administrative processes.
Experience in communicating with a range of audiences, including presentation and telephone skills.
Skills in developing, embedding and carrying out administrative processes to support service delivery.
A willingness to be flexible, learn and undertake a variety of different tasks.
Ability to travel to locations across the County as required.Job Purpose

To contribute to the delivery of projects within cost and budget parameters by providing a professional business support function, taking ownership of processes and paperwork relating to operational activity and teams.

Corporate Responsibilities

To maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with customers and colleagues within the team and across the service.

To ensure activities are delivered in the most efficient and effective manner as possible.

Responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Council policies.

Service Responsibilities

Assist with processes for the day-to-day timely call off of plant, materials and labour resources.

Administer plant and labour returns and utilise technology to minimise administrative time and effort for the collation and submission of data.

Own key administration processes, system updates and the recording and monitoring of information (e.g. annual leave, absence, PDR information, recording crime reference details for stolen plant/ goods, monitoring hired plant and vehicles).

Assist in the co-ordination of cover for vehicles and plant during servicing, and for operatives during a period of absence, monitoring adherence to service schedules, course attendance etc.

Assist with the daily distribution and collection of vehicle keys.

Collate driver hours and daily defect sheets, recording information as directed and progressing defect rectification with the workshop

Assist with the embedding of new technology, systems and processes with the supervisors and operatives such as use of tablets, monitoring vehicle key management and daily vehicle checks

Manage systems and processes relating to work distribution and the allocation of resources such as electronic tablet assignments, Confirm updates, allocating plant and vehicles to jobs in the Resource Allocation System, and maintaining receipt information in RAS

To deal with the processing of permissions and collation of order information relating to operational activity such as the submission of traffic light permits, notifications to customers and collation of sign order details

As a dutyholder representing the LCC you must ensure compliance with the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM) to ensure all projects are carried out in a way that secures health and safety.

Special Factors

· The nature of the work may involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours.

· The post holder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service.

· Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service.

· The working hours for this post will be set between both main depots Croft & Mountsorrel to support and cover the delivery of the service.
