We have an opportunity for a Network & Security Engineer to join us on the exciting and rewarding path we are taking here at Castle Trust Bank. Having become a fully authorised bank in 2020, we pride ourselves in being a fintech challenger bank, providing specialist property mortgages, retail finance lending and savings accounts to a variety of customers.
Within our Technology function, we are building our internal capabilities to bring all of the management of our security and network operations in-house, and this role will be fundamental to this providing an exciting opportunity to own and shape the environment, driving value and improvement. The role will be diverse
We are seeking a proactive Network Infrastructure Specialist to oversee operations, support, and project delivery. This role involves managing high-profile tasks and contributing to team dashboards and budget management, including identifying cost-saving opportunities. You will collaborate with third parties and vendors while working independently or cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where technology and customer needs evolve constantly. This role will benefit a hybrid working arrangement, to be based between our Basingstoke office (3 days) and working the rest of the week from home.
What we are looking for in you…
What is important to us is that you have strong knowledge of:
- Cloud networking– Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform
- Firewall configuration and management– Cisco Meraki, Palo Alto, Azure
- Incident management and supplier and contract management
- Antivirus– Sophos and Windows Defender
- Operating systems– Windows (client and server) and Linux
- Core network services– DNS, DHCP, WINS, W32Time
- Scripting– Powershell
- SIEM solutions– Azure Sentinel, Darktrace
- Monitoring tools– SolarWinds Pingdom, DynaTrace, AppDynamics
What is equally important is that you are a highly organised and task-driven professional with a strong customer and service focus, excelling under pressure and in agile environments. You will have the ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills with colleagues and senior stakeholders and thrive as a team player. You will have the ability to balance pragmatic solution delivery with technical rigour while maintaining a strong commitment to change control and service introduction processes. It would be advantageous if you have a proven track record of delivering projects from conception and design to enduring support, possessing strong leadership skills in team or project contexts. A degree in Computer Science or equivalent, along with certifications including ITIL Foundation, CISSP, and CCNA would also be beneficial in this role.
