Europes #1 intergrated defence business are seeking a Network Security Engineer to join their internal security response team. This role is focused on protecting critical systems and infrastructure in a secure environment, with the chance to work across incident response, firewall management, and network defence.

What you’ll be doing as a Network Security Engineer:

• Configuring, maintaining and supporting firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Sonicwall etc.).

• Implementing and supporting network security solutions including IDS/IPS, SSL decryption, VPNs and MFA.

• Monitoring and identifying issues using tools such as Nagios or PRTG.

• Working closely with SOC teams to triage incidents and optimise security tools.

• Designing and maintaining secure network architectures, ensuring compliance and resilience.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Strong understanding of networking protocols – TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, load balancing.

• Hands-on experience with firewall configuration and implementation.

• Knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems and security protocols (IPSec, SSL/TLS, VPNs).

• Experience with monitoring technologies (Nagios, PRTG or similar).

• Background as a Network Engineer with recent security-focused project work.

Package:

• Up to £55,000 (plus DV Bonus)
