TeamJobs are currently seeking experienced skilled workers to join on a swing shift basis for our client's Yeovil site. This position involves the manual turning of aerospace components in accordance with manufacturing instructions, engineering specifications, and customer/regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work within an empowered team environment to meet production and delivery targets and will report directly to the Team Lead.

Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Shift Pattern: One week day shift, one week late shift on rotation

Key Responsibilities:

Perform centre lathe turning operations, manufacturing parts from start to finish to aerospace specifications
Set up and operate bespoke work on 2-axis lathes
Carry out Operator Control of Quality (OCQ), including stamping to confirm compliance with internal and customer quality standards
Ensure on-time delivery by completing work to the required quality standards
Interpret engineering drawings and follow documented processes and layout procedures
Operate effectively within a lean manufacturing environmentQualifications & Experience:

Engineering Apprenticeship (desirable but not essential)
Proven experience in manual turning or related machining disciplines
Competence in using hand measuring equipment (e.g., verniers, micrometers, thread and plug gauges)
Strong awareness and adherence to health and safety practices
Experience working to structured processes and procedures
Familiarity with working in a customer-focused environment and achieving performance targets
Ability to collaborate with design and engineering teamsSkills & Attributes:

Understanding of aerospace industry practices and the importance of safety-critical work
Proficient in basic PC applications
Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, teamwork, adaptability, and use of initiative
Willingness to engage in continuous improvement practices
Openness to further training in company systems, manual handling, abrasive wheels, 5S methodology, lean principles, and general health and safety

Please note that this role requires full BPSS Screening and Drug screening.
