Role Accountabilities:
We are looking for an IT Support Engineer who will be based on-site at our flagship Cadishead depot. If you have a customer service orientated approach, a passion for technology and a talent for problem solving, this is a great opportunity to provide technical support to our internal staff, both in person and remotely. Some travel to sites across the Group will be required, so a full, clean driving license is essential.
As an IT Support Engineer, you will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation, configuration, and support of computer hardware and software across the Group. You will be collaborating closely with users, handling calls, emails and tickets logged via our Service Desk as well as supporting the wider IT team to solve technical issues and provide guidance on best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for IT support within the organisation, troubleshooting and diagnosing hardware and software issues, implementing resolutions effectively. Day-to-day administration of Group systems including Microsoft 365 (Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint), Salesforce and our Mitel telephone platform. Installing and configuring computer and mobile hardware, software, systems, printers, scanners, and networks, including cabling and patching. Ensure the security of client computers and servers. Provide relevant training to our internal users as well as ensuring their awareness and compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Management of stocks of equipment, consumables, and other supplies. Maintaining and updating technical documentation. Develop installation, configuration, and operational procedures as well as identifying opportunities for process and procedural improvements. Willingness to occasionally support out of hours work.
Person Specification
The Candidate:
We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:
A positive, can-do attitude. Strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to build rapport, actively listen, and ask relevant questions. Previous experience of working in a team-oriented, collaborative IT support environment. Sound understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and related technologies. Good networking knowledge (TCP/IP, LDAP, DHCP, DNS, VPN). Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft 365. Good understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practice. Ability to research and resolve a wide range of technical issues. Excellent information absorption and retention abilities. Effective prioritisation and task execution skills. Excellent attention to detail.
Desirable Experience and Skills:
Supporting a Salesforce platform. Excel / data manipulation proficiency.
