Job Description

The role

We are looking for an experienced IT Security Manager to join our team to support our customers defining and managing their security posture and to also work internally on security improvement projects within our organisation.

As an IT Security Manager within Netcompany, you will be responsible for overseeing and guiding all aspects of our the UK company’s computer security. Part of your primary role will be to ensure that our data and information systems are protected against unauthorised access, deliberate attack, corruption, and theft.

In parallel the role will also require the IT Security Manager to support our customers as required on improving, managing and monitoring their security posture.

You will work closely with personnel and physical security as well as various departments within the UK business to ensure that our security processes meet the highest standards. Your role will also involve training and mentoring staff on IT security practices, running internal audits, and staying up-to-date with the latest security standards and industry best practices to continuing building our security culture. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and identify potential security risks to our IT systems.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies and measures.
  • Monitor and analyse security metrics to proactively address emerging risks.
  • Upgrade existing security systems or design new ones tailored to our needs.
  • Conduct regular security audits and simulate breaches to test response protocols.
  • Manage disaster recovery plans and ensure business continuity in case of security incidents.
  • Secure weak points in our IT infrastructure and maintain compliance with international and national network security standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Train and supervise IT security staff, fostering a culture of security awareness within the organisation.
  • Support customer organisations with defining, improving and managing their security posture.
  • To guide an oversee IPSA accreditation
  • To provide support to the Personnel and Facilities Security Managers
  • Provide oversight for security posture within UK business
Qualifications

Key Skills/Experience/ Qualification

  • Proven experience in IT security management – 5+ years in role
  • In-depth knowledge of IT security principles, practices, and technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of key UK security policy and standards.
  • Experience of ISO27001, CE+, Secure by Design, JSP 440 and JSP 604.
  • Familiarity with security products and evaluating their performance.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and database security.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proven experience in delivering IPSA accreditation to organisations.
  • Ability to guide and support all Security function activity.
  • Demonstrable experience in pragmatically applying security policy to build a positive security culture.
  • Proven experience of delivering security improvements within a customer organisation, (UK MOD and Government Departments are of particular interest).
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud security, Microsoft 365 Security, and Compliance policies.
