About the Role

The Information Technology Manager is responsible for maintaining the hardware and software of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, as well as The Chancery Rosewood's computing and communication environment in both its pre-opening and operational phases. The role works with the Director of IT as well as the hotel's senior management team to evaluate equipment and property needs, sets up and maintains equipment and systems for the hotel, and recommends and implements improvements and changes as necessary. The role is also responsible for carrying out central administrative activities in accordance with standard operating procedures as issued, set forth by the hotel's senior management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure the provision, scaling, and setup of IT equipment for the hotel's pre-opening phase, as well as for the operational phase.
  • To ensure that all the IT equipment, including network equipment, PCs, laptops, and printers are managed and maintained properly.
  • To ensure that all systems and software is functioning correctly and updated in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that computer and software users are trained to be able to use their resources to the fullest extent and that all resources are maintained and updated in a proper and timely manner.
  • Continuously controls, reviews and evaluates existing IT configurations.
  • Develops and implements innovative IT strategies that anticipate future needs and trends, ensuring the hotel remains at the forefront of technology.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency by utilising advanced technologies to automate processes, streamline operations, and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Administers and maintains the usage of all mobile phones and LAN phones throughout the organisation.
  • Coordinate with external venders and service providers when escalation is required.
  • Maintains composure and effectiveness in high-pressure situations, ensuring smooth IT operations during critical times.
  • Provide technical support to associates and guests for IT-related services and issues.
  • Maintains positive guest and associate interactions with good working relationships and exceptional service at all times.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures (such as data privacy regulations and data back up) to protect hotels IT systems and to ensure company and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and provide IT solutions.
  • Manage IT budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
  • Negotiate contracts with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Track and evaluate vendor performance and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Assists in the development of business process modifications and updates, including their design and implementation.

About you

  • You have proven experience in Information Technology, ideally within the luxury or luxury hospitality space.
  • You have a curious and technology-focused mindset, and are driven by performance.
  • You excel at identifying and implementing cutting-edge technologies to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • You proactively monitor and analyse IT systems to anticipate and resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • You are adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • You foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging your team to innovate and optimise processes.
  • You maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices, ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of technology.
  • You have expertise in hotel hospitality technology, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, and guest service applications.
  • You have an in-depth understanding of IT software and processes, especially Microsoft applications and operating systems.
  • You are a facilitator for your team, and you are able to communicate with different services to ensure we provide our guests with the highest level of experience
  • You are a "brand ambassador" at all times and ensure brand integrity and clarity are always maintained.
  • Preferably you'll have had exposure of experience of being part of a pre-opening team.
