The IT department are seeking an enthusiastic Information Security Officer who enjoys working in a varied, hands-on role.

As Information Security Officer you’ll support the Information Security Manager in ensuring our information, systems and networks are protected from unauthorised access. This is a varied role and you’ll be involved in everything from ensuring compliance with information security policies, maintaining security controls, to running risk and vulnerability assessments.

In addition, you will work across the organisation conducting risk and vulnerability assessments; these will range from playing a key part in design to working on remediating issues and risks in existing areas. Should there be a security incident you will work jointly with colleagues in Data Protection, and lines-of-business, to investigate and bring to a satisfactory conclusion.

The department supports 7000 users across 600 locations, comprising of a comprehensive IT infrastructure delivering several line-of-business systems which reach out to all staff. A key aspect to the role is communication and teamwork. You will therefore, be expected to work across multi-disciplinary teams, communicating information security concepts to non-technical colleagues.

To be successful, you will hold an information security qualification, a minimum being a Level 3 Cyber Security apprenticeship, and have a minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience. Of benefit would be experience working within standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, CIS, or NIST Cyber Security.
