Information Security Consultant

Salary:Circa - £45,000

Role Description:

As an Information Security Consultant, you will support the Cyber Consultancy Team in implementing security initiatives and safeguarding the organization's data and systems.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to grow their expertise in information security within a supportive and dynamic environment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in conducting threat and risk assessments for change activities, ensuring security controls are embedded within project requirements.
  • Support the review of requirements, solution designs, and test plans to ensure compliance with Allianz security policies and standards.
  • Help identify, document, and manage residual risks through the information security risk management framework.
  • Collaborate with team members to promote Cyber-By-Design principles and educate project personnel on information security requirements.
  • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of security technologies such as firewalls and endpoint protection systems.
  • Stay informed on cybersecurity trends and technologies to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Act as a security SME and advise the business on general security queries
  • Collaborating with senior information security consultants to assist in executing key initiatives and projects.

Experience:

  • Strong experience in information security or a related role, preferably within a corporate environment.
  • Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including threat modeling, risk assessment, and vulnerability management.
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and endpoint protection.
  • Exposure to both on-prem and cloud security environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of network security fundamentals and secure network design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate security risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+
