We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of IT to lead and oversee our organization's information technology operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the IT team, ensuring the optimal performance of IT systems, infrastructure, and technology solutions, and supporting the company's strategic objectives through technology. The Head of IT will provide leadership in IT planning, execution, and troubleshooting, ensuring the security, efficiency, and scalability of our systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This role can be based in either our Citywest or Waterford office

Key Responsibilities:

IT Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute the company's IT strategy to support business goals and ensure technological competitiveness.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals, fostering collaboration, continuous improvement, and high performance.
Technology Infrastructure Management: Oversee the planning, installation, maintenance, and security of the company's technology infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud services, etc.).
Systems Management: Ensure all IT systems (hardware, software, networks) are functioning optimally, are up-to-date, and secure.
Project Management: Lead and manage IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management: Implement and manage cybersecurity strategies, policies, and procedures to safeguard data and IT assets.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure efficient delivery of IT services.
Budgeting & Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring cost-effective investment in IT infrastructure and solutions.
Compliance & Data Governance: Ensure the organization complies with relevant IT regulations and standards (GDPR, PCI DSS, NIS etc.) and enforce data governance practices.
Technology Innovation: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends to provide innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support business growth.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 8-10 years of IT experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Strong technical background in IT infrastructure, network management, cloud computing, and system administration.
Proven experience in IT project management, including implementing large-scale systems and leading cross-functional teams.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity practices, data protection regulations, and risk management strategies.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on delivering results.
Experience with IT budgeting, procurement, and vendor management.
Relevant certifications such as MCSE, ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or CISM are preferred.

Working Conditions:

Full-time position with occasional evening or weekend work required for system maintenance and support.
