Graduate Cyber Security Consultant Department: EarlyCareers Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: UnitedKingdom / Hybrid Description We will provide you with a fantasticspringboard into a consulting career with client engagement andproject work the norm from the start. You will gain experience in amanner that will provide the right level of support to ease thetransition from an academic environment, whilst enabling you tomake a positive contribution at an early stage. As a Cyber SecurityConsultant, you will work as part of an Actica team to undertake anumber of varying consultancy assignments. You will be given theopportunity to undertake a variety of roles throughout the projectlifecycle, working across a wide-ranging set of clients andcutting-edge technologies. Our work covers a broad range of topicsincluding architecture development, cyber security, programme andproject management through to data engineering/analytics and AI. Wehave a long track record of successful delivery and, as a result,are trusted to work on some of the UK Government’s most importantand sensitive projects. The range of clients and project work weoffer ensures that you will gain exposure to a wide variety oftechnical and business challenges in a short space of time.Locations: London, Guildford, Bristol. M4 corridor Roles andResponsibilities Working as part of an Actica team, yourconsultancy assignments could include: - Providing technicalassurance that proposed solutions are fit for purpose; - Developingnew architectures that mitigate the risks posed by new technologiesand business practices; - Providing advice to customers onInformation Assurance and architectural problems and risks; -Supporting the development of Risk Management AccreditationDocument Sets (RMADS); - Scoping security testing activities, andexplaining the findings and required remedial actions to projectstakeholders; - Investigating security incidents; - Promotingsecurity awareness within project teams, and within the company; -Conducting Cyber Security Risk Assessments; - Providing Assuranceof cyber security management controls and processes. Amongst otherthings you will gain experience in a manner that will provide theright level of support and challenge to ease the transition from anacademic environment, whilst enabling you to make a positivecontribution to project work at an early stage. Skills, Knowledgeand Expertise Actica is looking for candidates with a passion forenhancing the Cyber Security of UK public sector digital servicesand technology. We pride ourselves on giving high calibreconsultants the chance to excel. You will be motivated, willing tolearn and have the ability to work with other consultants andclient staff or independently. The fast-moving nature of thetechnology environment requires our consultants to be quickthinkers, proactive and self-motivated – with the ability to applystructured approaches to often unfamiliar subject matter. In moredetail, we look for candidates with: - A good degree in a STEMsubject, with further study at Masters and / or PhD level a bonus;- An NCSC certified Information / Cyber / Systems Security master’sdegree, alongside a good Cyber / STEM based degree; - Anunderstanding of the use of technology in business and publicsector contexts; - Familiarity gained through studies with the HMGSecurity Policy Framework (SPF) and the NCSC Information AssurancePortfolio, IA Standards, Good Practice Guides, ArchitecturePatterns, etc. Although these are not essential, you will alsobenefit from having one or more of: - The ability to present andjustify conclusions to project teams and stakeholders; - Awillingness to take on new and unfamiliar subject matter; - Theability to build and nurture durable working relations withstakeholders; - Proven abilities in communicating and delivering tostakeholder expectations and requirements; - Prior work experiencegained in a technical and / or consulting environment. AdditionalRequirements: - Must be eligible and willing to obtain UKGovernment Security Clearance. Key Attributes for Success: -Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, includingresolving issues and identifying new opportunities. - Stronginterpersonal and influencing skills. - Adaptability to afast-paced, ever-changing environment. Working Arrangements: -Hybrid working model, with an office base in Guildford, Surrey andaccess to our other offices in London, Swindon and Cheltenham. -Typical working week might involve 2-3 days working at clients’premises or other locations and the remainder at home or at one ofour offices. - Some projects may require up to 5 days per weekon-site with colleagues. - The practicalities of some project workmeans that individuals may need to stay away from home during theworking week. - Team-based project environment with opportunitiesto participate in internal initiatives. The nature of Actica’sbusiness means that a wide and varied background is preferable andthe capability to adapt quickly to change is always required.Career Development You will be given the opportunity to furtheryour career in consulting, specialising in the application of abroad range of methodologies and technical specialisations to awide range of business problems. A Mentor will be on hand toprovide support and guidance throughout your journey with Actica.You will also work with a Performance and Development Manager,often outside of your project line of control, who will conductregular reviews based on project feedback to set career objectivesand identify training courses which are both relevant to yourcurrent project work, and aligned with your planned careerprogression.
