Fire & Security Operations Manager – South East London - £50,000


Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Fire & Security Alarm Operations Manager to oversee the seamless delivery of reactive, remedial, and compliance-based fire safety services, including fire risk actions and minor works. The role involves first-line leadership of a field-based engineering team and coordination with external contractors, ensuring all activities align with contractual service level agreements and company quality standards.

This hybrid position requires a dynamic individual who thrives both in the field and in a structured office environment, with a focus on operational efficiency, health & safety compliance, and customer satisfaction.



Salary Package:

  • £45,000 - £50,000
  • Company Car
  • Bonus to be discussed
  • Hybrid working




Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage day-to-day reactive, remedial, FRA-related, and small works calls, ensuring timely engineer response in line with KPIs.
  • Track and resolve aged service calls and exceptions, maintaining performance metrics.
  • Coordinate and manage field-based engineers, subcontractors, and small works teams to ensure consistent quality delivery.
  • Implement works arising from fire risk assessments and liaise with specialist subcontractors when needed.
  • Conduct post-inspections to validate service quality and engineering performance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Engineering Support, Procurement, Health & Safety, and Business Services.
  • Enforce and promote health & safety practices across all operational activities.
  • Provide operational support coverage in the absence of key leadership roles.
  • Continuously evaluate service workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain and review engineer timesheets, escalate operational concerns, and provide ongoing feedback to drive high performance.

Requirements:

  • Solid technical understanding of fire alarm systems, door entry, access control, and CCTV.
  • Prior hands-on experience managing or working alongside engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with health & safety regulations and standards in a field service environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage at all levels.
