Duties/Responsibilities

EMCOR UKare recruiting for a permanent mobileFire and Security engineerfor our clients to cover South M25 and surrounding areas (company van (business use only) or car (business & private use) with fuel card provided). 

Location: Mobile (Ideal location of you would be within South M25)
Hours: 40 per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday between 8am – 5pm with 1 hour for lunch, overtime available paid at x1.5 Monday to Sunday 


Role Overview

To provide support to both on-site engineers and clients. You will also be responsible to carry out system maintenance, reactive and small or extra works to, CCTV, access control, security systems and automatic fire comprising of both internal and external clients. You would be someone with a multi-disciplined background in Fire and Security. Knowledge of working with large commercial clients and with many different manufacturers will be an advantage. The role will entail working with large Blue-Chip Clients in the Surrey and surrounding areas.


What you will do:

Carryout planned preventative maintenance activities Upgrades and system repairs Modifications in line with contract requirements Regular communication with the client on Key Point Indicators, and service level agreements Provide planned preventive maintenance, system repair, small works and system commissioning activity in conjunction with Specialist Services requests and/or site/clients requirements. Prepare dilapidation reports on newly acquired contracts and advise or recommend improvement, additions or reductions. Provide design, support and quotation delivery in accordance with relevant British Standards. Maintain a strong working relationship & communication between the client and EMCOR UK.

What you will need:

At least 2 years previous experience of servicing, maintaining and installation of CCTV, access control, intruder alarm systems, intercom systems and fire systems. Ideally the candidate will be a multi-disciplined engineer or a strong engineer in one discipline willing to cross train. Adequate knowledge of relevant British Standards with a working knowledge of NSI and LPCB required standards. Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding skills, with the ability to resolve by elimination and/or technical recommendations. Knowledge and experience of permits to work systems, method statements and risk assessments. Advanced PC and LAN/WAN Networking skills, including OS level operation.
Health & Safety trained. System design, surveying, estimating and quotation experience. Ability to implement a program of works or PPM schedule, and team / self-delivery to deadline timescales. Understanding of asset collation and controlled program of just in time replacement.
Ensuring that all reactive works are carried out within service level agreements.

Role to cover the on-call Rota which is currently 1 in 4 
Callout standby to be paid at £125.00 per week 
£13.00 per day Mon-Fri
£30.00 per day Sat / Sun
£30.00 per day bank holidays 

Individual callouts to site are paid at time-and-a-half overtime rate, for either a minimum of 4 hours or for the total time spent (including travel door-to-door), whichever is the greater.
