About The Company:

They are a family run business where you will be valued and rewarded for your input to the business. Doncaster based with clients across the country but most work within an hours travel. As a whole, they install/maintain Access Control, CCTV, Data/structured cabling, Disabled refuge, Emergency lighting, Fire detection systems, Fire extinguishers, Gates/Barriers/Bollards, Intruder alarms, Nurse/warden call, and public address systems.

About The Role:

The company are seeking a skilled Fire and/or Security Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of fire safety, security and associated systems, with the ability to understand designs/specifications, and be able to install and maintain these systems to the relevant standards. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance. Uk wide travel may be required for this role, plenty of notice in advance of any travel or overnight requirements are provided. Flexible 40-hour working week.

Responsibilities Include:

Installation, maintenance, and repair of predominantly commercial systems to a high standard and ensure all systems comply with current fire and security legislation and industry best practices.

Maintain effective client relationships to aid in securing future work.

Maintain accurate documentation by way of completing in app job sheets which detail both the progression and outcome of completed works.

Inclusion into on call rota (only to cover holidays)

Collaborate with other engineers and contractors to ensure effective system integration.

Fault diagnosis & repairs: Identify and rectify faults efficiently to ensure system functionality and compliance.

Manage the care and maintenance of your own company vehicle, informing the office of any repairs or services that are required. Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and tidy inside and out within the boundaries of operational duties.

Managing your own van stock levels and ensuring that any items used are replenished as needed.

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience as a Fire and Security Engineer (minimum 5 years).City & Guilds or equivalent.

Strong knowledge and familiarity with relevant regulations.

Experience working to SSAIB and/or NSI and BAFE standards.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Full clean UK driving license.

Confidence in working solo and as part of a team.

Strong customer-facing skills with a professional and presentable demeanour.

Flexible working attitude, willing to travel and stay overnight when required.

Proficiency in IP and IT networking.

Competent in IT related products for Security and Communication devices and computer literate in MS Office suite (preferably Word & Excel)

Must be able to satisfy vetting and clear enhanced DBS checks and PNC background checks(BS7858 compliant).

Desirable qualifications include: IPAF, CSCS/ ECS, FIA

Willingness to learn and develop.

Have a knowledge of the following products: Galaxy, Texecom, Eaton, Pyronix, Paxton, PAC, Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Bosch, Advanced, Ziton, Kentec, Hochiki, Apollo, Morley, VESDA, Wagner, Fluke LinkWare Live management software.
