Our client is looking to recruit a Electrical Trades Manager on a 6 month initial contract.

Manage and lead a team of staff in collaboration with colleagues and contractors providing repairs, maintenance and improvements to council owned dwellings, properties and land managed by Landlord Services within the HRA ensuring completed works are compliant with relevant building regulations and housing legislation in particular electrical testing, repairs and planned maintenance.

Maintain day-to-day line management and development of all staff and supervisors in the team and developing an effective on boarding plan to provide consistent continuity.

Assist the Service Manager with the monitoring and development of repairs policies and updating legislative change, seeking best practice, ideas and innovative solutions and ensuring they are applied within the Service. Ensure customer engagement in the service to empower and enable customers to make decisions on how the service is delivered.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for ensuring high quality works from internal trade teams and contractors, ensuring “right-first- time” and achieving high customer satisfaction whilst staying within budgetary targets and providing a cost effective, value for money service.

  • Ensure service delivery is in line with targets set by government including compliance with HHSRS standards, Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, Consumer Standards and relevant compliance legislation, including taking ownership on dealing with any complaints, FOIs and SARs set out in the Consumer Standards

  • Ensure compliance across the service in areas such as Data Protection, Information Security, Health and Safety and Procurement rules.

  • Manage, direct and coordinate resources to provide pre/post repairs inspections to optimise usage and ensure sufficient availability to undertake relevant response and planned work as directed by the Council's scheduling system (if applicable) and in liaison with Trade Teams.

  • Monitor the delivery and quality of work carried out by Trade Teams & contractors to maximise customer experience and satisfaction, taking the lead on dealing with any issues or complaints.

  • Ensure staff performance is maintained to a high standard of delivery and customer satisfaction through the setting, and regular monitoring, of both team and individual targets, identifying and providing continuous development opportunities and the effective management of any performance issues within an appropriate timescale.

    This role is due to start ASAP.

    The role will allow for flexible working but it will be an expectation that the person is in the office 3 to 4 days a week.
