Salary: £660.00 per day

HYBRID Role – requirement to be in Lincoln Tuesday and Thursday each week. Duration of this contract may be extended.

This role will play a vital part in defining identifying and specifying security countermeasure, driving suppliers to deliver the required systems and change, managing projects and ensuring that vulnerability management is driven forward to provide the best levels of cyber security to support the best outcomes for Lincolnshire citizens and the council. We are looking for an engineer/architect with the capacity to drive these areas forward in a complex and diverse operational and technology environment, with many public and private sector partners. You will have a strong technical and security background in a variety of roles, and at the same time possess the communication skills to breakdown and convey technical challenges to non-technical audiences. Importantly you will have a passion for security and be focused on delivering the best outcomes.
About you
Essential
At least 5 years technical security experience
Strong technical skills including Azure, Microsoft Defender, M365 networking and firewalls.
Able to work on own initiative, able to cut through challenges and keep the programme lead informed of progress
An ability to plan and drive the delivery of change to improve security
Able to analyse the situation, understand and communicate the security context, consider solutions (both tactical and strategic) and drive the delivery to completion
A good working knowledge of security best practice
Good working knowledge of vulnerability management

Desirable
A working knowledge of security testing tools would be an advantage
Knowledge of formal standards e.g. NIST/NCFC/CIS would be an advantage
Experience of specifying and implementing 3rd party SOC
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, related field or equivalent experience
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP) are a plus.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant Microsoft Security certifications
