Cyber Security Engineer - Hybrid/Bromley


Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer


Location: Hybrid - Bromley, Kent (2 days per week minimum)


Remuneration: Up to £46,


Contract Details: Permanent


Responsibilities:



Monitor for security breaches, intrusions, and unauthorised activities
Evaluate and test security solutions
Investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents
Collaborate with stakeholders to address cybersecurity concerns and provide recommendations
Produce reports for technical and non-technical audiences
Assist with internal and external cybersecurity audits
Review and enhance security policies and develop best practises
Stay informed about the latest security trends and technological advancements
Resolve vulnerabilities in a timely manner and ensure system patching
Analyse and resolve incidents escalated by support teams
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to understand the impact of security updates
Work outside of core hours as required
Collaborate with audit teams to address queries
Drive and implement enhancements for Office secure scores
Mitigate network vulnerabilities and perform penetration testing
Familiarity with Entra, Azure, Tenable.io, Fortinet Firewalls, and Rapid7


Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a talented Cyber Security Engineer to join their Systems Support team. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic and innovative team in safeguarding the organisation from cybersecurity threats.



As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and assessing security solutions, investigating and responding to incidents, and collaborating with stakeholders to address cybersecurity concerns. Additionally, you will play a key role in producing reports, assisting with audits, and enhancing security policies and best practises.


To excel in this role, you should have a strong IT background, including expertise in computer networks, operating systems, and security. Practical knowledge of various security technologies and experience with Office are essential. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure are also crucial.



The ideal candidate will have experience with penetration testing, network vulnerability mitigation, and cloud technologies. Familiarity with Entra, Azure, Tenable.io, Fortinet Firewalls, and Rapid7 is highly desirable.
