What will you be doing as a Cyber Security Engineer?

This role is crucial in ensuring the security of our client's diverse client base. You'll be immersed in the world of cybersecurity, where you'll:

  • Take the lead on Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus accreditations: You'll be the go-to expert, guiding clients through the entire process, from initial assessment to successful certification. This involves conducting thorough risk assessments, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing robust security measures to meet the required standards.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive cybersecurity strategies: You'll work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and create tailored security policies, procedures, and technical controls to protect their valuable data and systems.

  • Proactively monitor and manage security tools: Staying ahead of the curve is essential in cybersecurity. You'll utilize a range of security tools and systems (like SIEM, firewalls, and vulnerability scanners) to detect and respond to threats effectively, ensuring clients remain protected.

  • Become a trusted advisor: You'll build strong relationships with clients, providing expert guidance and support on cybersecurity best practices. This includes conducting security awareness training and workshops to empower clients and internal teams with the knowledge to safeguard their IT infrastructure.

    What skills and experience do you need?

    To thrive in this role, you'll need:

  • A solid foundation in cybersecurity: Proven experience working in an MSP or IT services environment is essential, demonstrating your ability to navigate the complexities of securing diverse IT infrastructures.

  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards: A strong understanding of Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus frameworks is a must, along with familiarity with key information security standards and regulations like GDPR, ISO 27001, and NIST.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills: You'll need to be able to quickly identify and mitigate security risks, ensuring that client systems remain secure in the face of evolving threats.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills: Building trust and rapport with clients is key. You'll need to be able to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely, providing expert guidance and support.
