The Cybersecurity Architect position is responsible for developing, supporting and administering specialized security tooling across the Southwest Local Delivery Group (LDG). This position requires hands-on experience in SIEM, SOAR, VM, software development, data analytics, and security assessments. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in security tools and technologies, with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

The Cyber Security Architect is expected to think like an adversary and identify how solutions should evolve as the threat landscape changes. The Cyber Security Architect will possess detailed technical knowledge, strong communicational skills, strong organizational skills, business acumen and the ability to train/guide less experienced coworkers. They work to continuously improve the security posture/maturity across HSPs and work with other LDGs, the province and federal agencies to collectively defend the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop custom capabilities and integrations with security tooling to drive efficiencies, enabling the security analyst team to work on more advanced tasks. These capabilities may include but are not limited to: Custom integrations between systems to facilitate orchestration and automate actions/responses.
Custom use cases to correlates events from disperse systems.
Custom tooling to for use in both defensive and offensive work.
Enriching data with threat intelligence/indicators/artifacts and other contextual information from both internal and external sources

Architect and maintain custom solutions leveraging modern agile principals and Continuous Integration/Deployment (CI/CD)
Maintain and support security related systems and services.
Manage a SIEM and leverage data science techniques to analyze and correlate large volumes of data from multiple sources.
Onboard, parse and maintain log sources from disperse system.
Monitors KPIs/KPOs to ensure they are in line with the LDG service catalogue and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Design and build dashboards and reporting tools to help inform decision making, customer support, strategic direction and proactive threat monitoring.
Collaborate with the GRC team on security assessments providing technical insights, mitigating controls, vulnerability reporting, and/or penetration testing.
Conduct penetration tests/audits against systems to identify and report on security, configuration and compliance issues.
Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and security best practices
What we offer:

Rate of Pay: $52.16 per hour to $65.20 per hour

Status: Regular Full-time

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications College certificate or diploma in cyber security, computer programming, or equivalent as determined by the Hospital
Bachelor's degree in computer sciences or computer engineering preferred
5 years of recent and relevant experience
Experience in Software development, Scripting, Databases, Common Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Data Analytics, Data Sciences, Statistical Analysis, Data Visualization, Threat Intelligence, Operating Systems, Networking, Controls/Frameworks
Security certifications such as Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), CrowdStrike Certified Falcon Hunter (CCFH), or equivalent preferred
Experience with using CrowdStrike, Splunk, Tenable or similar tools preferred (both as tools and implementing integrations via their respective APIs)
Demonstrated ability in Risk Management, Critical/Analytical Thinking, Communication and Collaboration.
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
