Are you ready to step into a high-impact contract with a world-leading technology innovator? This is a six-month assignment where you’ll be part of a pioneering team shaping cutting-edge optical technology—used in everything from cybersecurity and government systems to high-speed data networks. Based full-time in Cambridge, this contract offers a day rate of £350–£400 and the opportunity to apply your test engineering expertise in a truly advanced engineering environment. What makes this role stand out is the breadth of technology you’ll work with, the autonomy you'll have in shaping test strategy, and the hands-on responsibility of validating real-world, production-ready solutions in a dynamic and supportive R&D setting.

In this role, you’ll be the go-to person for planning and executing the verification and validation of sophisticated PCB assemblies and systems. Working alongside electronics, firmware, and production engineers, you’ll define test requirements, design and build test rigs, and lead fault-finding investigations down to component level. You'll use your deep understanding of analogue, digital, power, and embedded circuits to drive the development of robust, scalable test methodologies. From root cause analysis to test documentation, you’ll take ownership of the full test life-cycle, contributing to both new product introduction and ongoing manufacturing support.

You'll be joining a specialist engineering division within a wider global group—renowned for delivering cutting-edge optical switching solutions.
