Ready to embark on the quest of joining Hack The Box?

At the end of this thrilling journey, you'll become a proud member of Hack The Box, with the ultimate mission to help redefine cybersecurity expertise. Get ready for an exciting adventure into the world of cybersecurity!

The core mission of the Content Marketing Specialist:

Your efforts will prove pivotal in strengthening HTB’s global footprint as a leader in upskilling cyber professionals and teams.

You will work closely with our Senior Content Marketing Manager, and the Brand Marketing and Communications team, as well as cross-functionally with the broader Marketing department to produce a range of critical content assets.

Now “critical content assets” is kind of vague. So what types of wonderful content will you get to dabble with?

Examples include sourcing unique insights from our internal & external Subject Matter Experts, writing for an industry-leading blog and newsletter, whipping up the occasional lead gen-oriented one-pager, supporting with creating industry reports, and copywriting for landing pages—to help cross-functional teams such as Growth, Product Marketing, or Sales.

That’s plenty of opportunity to flex your content marketing muscles and grow your strategic skills by participating in planning, ideating, and briefing different content based on campaign goals & GTM plans.

Finally, a key part of your role will include growing and operating our unique Subject Matter Experts (SME) Program—which involves sourcing content from our very own list of credible industry experts.

The fellowship you’ll be joining:

You will be part of the 5-person Brand Marketing and Communications team, sitting with the Content Marketing function.

As part of the fun-loving marketing team at HTB, you’ll work within a dynamic, goal-oriented group that values open, honest, and collaborative communication.

You’ll also gain the opportunity to broaden your understanding of content marketing and exercise your creative vision across multiple cyber-related content campaigns!

️ Technology, tools, & weapons you’ll be using:

Google Analytics. Leaps (SME interviewing tool). Ahrefs (for SEO research & reporting). Google Search Console (for SEO research & reporting). Asana (for project management and collaboration).

Interesting resources you should check:

Our blog (of course).  Our latest annual research report.  The SME program.  The ThreatReady Newsletter.

The adventures that await you after becoming a Content Marketing Specialist at Hack The Box:

Conduct interviews with internal and external subject matter experts or customers, and turn those conversations into customer-facing content that oozes value. Research and ideate on ways to optimize and repurpose content (for example, turning a webinar transcript into an SEO blog post or sales asset). Come up with unique angles and hooks (that align with HTB’s messaging) for the pieces you work on. Work on engaging and sourcing insights from experts in the industry by managing the HTB SME program. Create content for the newsletters in collaboration with respective stakeholders and departments. Proofread and edit content (, articles, Q&A interviews, white papers, video scripts) with sharp attention to detail (and a love for engaging narratives that tell a captivating story). Upload and oversee general content-related admin (like publishing posts & adding internal links) using our Content Management System (CMS).

Skills, knowledge, and experience points required to unlock the role of Content Marketing Specialist at Hack The Box:

Background in journalism, content marketing, or creative writing/copywriting. 2+ years of experience writing and editing content across various formats. (Demonstrable proof of a journalistic eye for unique hooks and messaging is a huge plus.) Ability to edit the content of other contributors and self-edit your own work according to a style guide and deliver polished work. Editing is an integral part of this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to think outside of the box and innovate. Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

️ What your Hack The Box adventure will have in store:
