Security-Focused Software Architect (Cryptography Specialist) We're in search of an experienced and innovative software architect with a deep specialisation in cybersecurity and applied cryptography. This role involves shaping and overseeing the development of robust, secure software architectures. You'll bring expert-level knowledge of cryptographic mechanisms and drive the implementation of security-first solutions, guiding a talented team of engineers throughout the process. Familiarity with contemporary security protocols, standards, and technologies is essential. Key Responsibilities Architect and develop secure software solutions, emphasising practical cryptographic implementation. Investigate and prototype new cryptographic methods to enhance system security. Work cross-functionally to conceptualise, build, and validate secure applications and infrastructure. Provide leadership and mentorship to a development team, promoting secure coding best practices. Help define and enforce organisational security standards and processes. Produce and maintain comprehensive documentation covering cryptographic approaches and security frameworks. Engage with clients and external stakeholders to align on security requirements and integration strategies. Qualifications A degree in Computer Science or a related discipline (Bachelor’s or higher). Minimum of 8 years in software engineering, with significant experience in security and cryptographic applications. Strong technical knowledge of encryption algorithms and secure software design principles. Competency in networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP. Proven ability to lead development teams and manage complex technical projects. Familiar with modern software engineering practices, tools, and lifecycles. Clear communicator with strong documentation and interpersonal skills. Excellent problem-solving capabilities and independent working style. Security certifications such as CISSP are advantageous.
