UPS Service Engineer

Location: London, Slough, South East UK

Please note that possession of a valid UK driving license is a mandatory requirement for this role, as it involves frequent travel and client visits.

Your Mission:

As an original equipment manufacturer of critical power products, the position will be accountable for working within critical power environments for large organisations, across a wide customer base, demonstrating excellent communication and complete ownership of given tasks. These tasks will include commissioning and start-up on new installed equipment, maintenance, service, and repair activities on a variety of different UPS solutions.

Product training will be given in our academy and access to internal software and applications, you will be expected to utilise technical literature including schematic diagrams, service and maintenance manuals and installation guidelines to complete works to a high standard, following process and working within a team environment covering emergency call out.

The main departments you will be working with are: Service coordination, Technical support, Project manager and account teams etc. You will be required to manage onsite activities and supervise installation contractors to ensure best practice.

This position is responsible to provide professional services for Schneider Electric customers and technical support/training for service partners, including technical site analysis to resolve customer issues and to perform field service duties on Schneider Electric‘s complete range of electrical distribution products and solutions.

Proactively identify and communicate onsite opportunities for additional services, upgrades, or solutions that enhance customer operations and align with Schneider Electric offerings.

Test and measurement equipment, knowledge of electrical and electronic codes, and in-depth

knowledge of electrical and electronic principals is required.

A high level of customer service skills is required as well as the ability to perform

troubleshooting.

Your daily task and responsibilities:

• Perform Start-up/Commissioning, Preventive Maintenance and Corrective/Unscheduled Maintenance on all Schneider Electric Secure Power UPS equipment.

• Participate and lead in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

• Perform consulting services at customer sites as well as over the phone.

• Work with customers, contractors, service partners, other members of the team, Sales Partners, Tech Support, and Manager to resolve escalated problems.

• Document all required information for each site visit performed.

• Manage installation projects as well as unit replacement when necessary.

• Properly document, label, and return all defective parts utilized in the repair of Schneider Electric equipment to the designated disposal/repair location.

• Educate Schneider Electric customers on basic operation of their equipment. Inform customers of issues which they may have experience with their equipment in a way which is beneficial to the customer as well as Schneider Electric.

• Must comply with all safety policies, practices, procedures, and cybersecurity

• 7x24 Field Service availability when assigned

• Proactively identify and communicate onsite opportunities for additional services, upgrades, or solutions that enhance customer operations and align with Schneider Electric offerings.

Who you are?

Your education and experience

• 2-5 years’ experience within UPS industry or similar.

• Professional technical bachelor or equivalent by experience

• Knowledge of electricity/electronics

• Safety mindset

• Very good knowledge of MS Office and being computer literate

• Good understanding of Schneider Electric
