Technical Delivery Lead (Contract)

Location: Sheffield (3 days per week on site)

Rate: £450 per day

Contract Length: Until November

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to drive the end-to-end delivery of complex, multidisciplinary technology projects within a large enterprise financial services environment. This role requires strong technical acumen, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to navigate complex governance and delivery landscapes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the end-to-end delivery of multidisciplinary technical projects, ensuring alignment with CTO strategy and architectural standards.

Partner closely with Engineering Leads, Architects, and Product Owners to translate business and technical requirements into clear, structured delivery plans.

Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and issues across teams and platforms.

Maintain high-quality project artefacts including RAID logs, delivery roadmaps, technical plans, budgets, and executive-level reporting.

Drive alignment across Engineering, Architecture, Cybersecurity, Service Management, and wider Business stakeholders.

Oversee vendor and third-party delivery, ensuring all activity aligns with controls, policies, and governance requirements.

Champion modern engineering practices, including automation, DevOps, and continuous improvement.Required Experience & Skills

Proven track record delivering large-scale technology programmes within financial services or complex enterprise environments.

Strong technical understanding of infrastructure, cloud platforms, and modern engineering methodologies.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders.

Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, multimegaton delivery models, and commercial/vendor relationships.
