Solution Designer- Cryptography

Location: Manchester - Hybrid

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Rate: £540 per day inside IR35

Duration: 6 months initially

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Solution Designer – Cryptography to take ownership of designing secure enterprise‑grade cryptographic solutions. This senior position involves developing high‑level security architectures, including Hardware Security Module (HSM)–based solutions, and ensuring alignment with governance, risk management, and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with architecture, engineering, and security stakeholders to deliver robust and compliant cryptographic designs that underpin critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop High‑Level Designs (HLD) for cryptographic and wider security architectures.

* Design and implement secure cryptographic solutions, particularly around HSM‑based architectures.

* Ensure all solutions meet governance, risk, and compliance standards.

* Partner with architecture and security teams to secure design and governance approvals.

Skills & Experience

* Strong experience producing High‑Level Design (HLD) and security architecture documentation.

* Proven background in cryptographic solution design and implementation.

* Expertise in Hardware Security Module (HSM) technologies and key‑management processes.

* Deep understanding of encryption standards and cryptographic protocols.

* Experience with security architecture governance and design review processes.
