Senior Infrastructure Engineer
London/Remote
Salary: up to £75,000
VIQU has partnered with an organisation operating a technically broad, security-focused infrastructure environment to recruit a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. This is a hands-on senior position taking ownership across Azure, enterprise networking, infrastructure security, identity, endpoints, virtualisation and data-centre operations.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer
- Design, implement and secure scalable Microsoft Azure infrastructure
- Architect Azure networking including VNets, VPN gateways, private endpoints and NSGs
- Lead cloud migration and infrastructure modernisation projects
- Configure and troubleshoot LAN, WAN, VPN, BGP and OSPF environments
- Administer Sophos and Barracuda firewalls, including NAT, VPN and threat protection
- Manage vulnerability scanning, remediation, segmentation and infrastructure hardening
- Secure Microsoft Entra ID using Conditional Access, MFA, PIM and least-privilege controls
- Administer Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne RMM and endpoint security
- Manage Microsoft 365, Mimecast and secure web gateway technologies
- Administer VMware vSphere and NSX environments
- Oversee data-centre infrastructure and associated technical changes
- Maintain LogicMonitor and PRTG monitoring environments
- Support ISO 27001 controls, audit preparation and evidence gathering
- Lead technical projects and mentor the Infrastructure Analyst
Key Requirements of the Senior Infrastructure Engineer
- Senior-level infrastructure or network engineering experience
- Strong hands-on Microsoft Azure design and security expertise
- Enterprise networking experience covering WAN, VPN and routing protocols
- Sophos and/or Barracuda firewall administration
- Strong infrastructure and network security experience
- Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune administration
- NinjaOne RMM experience
- Microsoft 365 and Mimecast administration
- Secure Web Gateway experience
- VMware vSphere and NSX expertise
- Data-centre infrastructure experience
- LogicMonitor, PRTG or comparable monitoring experience
- ISO 27001 environment and audit experience
- Strong technical leadership, documentation and communication skills
Relevant Microsoft, Cisco, VMware or Sophos certifications, PowerShell/Microsoft Graph automation, Bicep/Terraform and ITIL experience would be advantageous.
