Role Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Security Service Engineer to join a well-established fire and security company covering the Peterborough, Northampton and Milton Keynes areas.

This is a service, fault-finding and maintenance role, with no installation work involved. You'll be responsible for maintaining a portfolio of mainly social housing and retirement housing sites, ensuring security systems remain fully operational and compliant.

The successful engineer will primarily work on door entry, access control and CCTV systems.

The customer base is approximately 90% social housing and 10% retirement housing, providing a consistent and well-established service portfolio.

Security Service Engineer Role & Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and fault-find on door entry, access control and CCTV systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently to minimise system downtime.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance visits.
  • Complete service reports and paperwork accurately.
  • Identify remedial works and report findings where required.
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing the company on site.
  • Assist with servicing fire alarm systems when covering annual leave for the local Fire Alarm Engineer.
  • Participate in a 1 in 2 on-call rota (Normally quiet on the call out front)

Security Service Engineer Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience servicing and maintaining door entry, access control and CCTV systems.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Competent working across a wide range of security systems.
  • Previous experience within a service and maintenance role (not installation).
  • Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
