Security Operations Centre Analyst

Security Operations Centre Analyst | £30,000 - £40,000 | West Yorkshire

Our client runs a 24x7x365 Security Operations Centre supporting customers across multiple industries against an evolving threat landscape. They're looking for a SOC Analyst to join the team on a shift basis, taking ownership of frontline threat detection and response within a busy security operations environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and triage output from SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewall platforms to detect potential compromise
• Act as first responder on confirmed incidents, working through investigation, containment and handover to senior staff where needed
• Keep IT, network and security stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates on active threats
• Support senior team members in rolling out mitigations and control changes
• Flag gaps or inefficiencies in existing monitoring processes and suggest fixes

Required Experience:

• Working knowledge across firewalls, IDS/IPS, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, TCP/IP and cloud environments
• Foundational grasp of core security concepts and threat types
• Exposure to access/security administration tasks
• Familiarity with incident containment, remediation and recovery
• Confident communicator with solid customer-facing skills
• Sharp analytical instincts and a methodical approach to problem-solving
• Open to rotating shift patterns, including nights/weekends

Desirable:

• Industry-recognised certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CEH, GCIH) or working towards
• Familiarity with SIEM platforms or IT service management tools
• Track record of meeting SLA-driven targets in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable operating within a round-the-clock, shift-based service model
