Security Architect

Location: Warwick - Hybrid - 3 days per week onsite

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Rate: £500 per day inside IR35

Working Pattern: On-call shifts

Duration: 6 to 12 months initially

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Security Architect to support the design, implementation, and governance of secure solutions across a complex enterprise environment. This role will play a critical part in safeguarding systems and data by identifying risks, defining security architectures, and ensuring compliance with internal and external security standards. You will work closely with project, engineering, and DevOps teams to embed security into the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide security guidance and direction to projects and programmes

* Own and define security architecture across multiple initiatives

* Drive security requirements, standards, and best practices

* Collaborate with development and DevOps teams on secure solution design

* Ensure solutions comply with security policies and risk management frameworks

* Identify and remove blockers impacting security deliverables

* Conduct first-line risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and threats

* Lead supply chain security assurance activities in collaboration with vendor teams

* Review third-party contracts to ensure appropriate security clauses are included

* Support mitigation strategies to improve the organisation’s cyber security posture

* Coordinate design and review activities across internal security teams

* Track and manage risks, issues, and residual exposures

* Maintain documentation, reporting, and audit evidence for security controls

* Stay up to date with emerging threats and recommend appropriate countermeasures

Skills & Experience

* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience

* 3–6 years’ experience in a Security Architect or similar cyber security role

* Strong understanding of security architecture, frameworks, and risk management

* Experience working with cross-functional and globally distributed teams

* Ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

* Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities

* Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

* Experience operating in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines

* High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes
