Security Architect – Defence & National Security (DV Cleared), Outside IR35 £600-700 per day, initial 3 month contract

Location:Farnborough or Cheltenham |Clearance:DV Cleared


Outside IR35 contract role, starting on an initial 3 months with long contract opportunity.

This Digital Innovations & Delivery partner have impressive year on year growth secured for the next three years, so there is plenty of fantastic projects for you to work on across MOD & Defence.


A DV Security Architect is required to join a fast-paced partner working on some of the UK’s most innovative digital transformation programmes in secure environments. You will need to have Sec Ops Design & Build experience and be happy to work where you need to deliver. This is flexible and could be Farnborough or home based.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing robust, secure-by-design architectures aligned to MOD and wider government standards
  • Managing risk using frameworks like NIST 800-53 and producing key security artefacts (RMAs, Security Aspects, Test Plans, etc.)
  • Working with cross-functional teams including DevSecOps, Software, Infrastructure and Agile delivery
  • Providing strategic guidance on cyber security, threat mitigation and compliance
  • Engaging with MOD stakeholders, accreditors and assurance bodies to meet regulatory requirements


What you’ll bring

  • Strong experience in designing and assuring security architectures in Defence or similar secure sectors
  • Deep understanding of security components (cryptography, access control, data inspection etc.)
  • Familiarity with JSP 604/453 and MOD assurance frameworks
  • High standards in documentation and stakeholder communication
  • Currently DV (Developed Vetting) Cleared


Bonus if you have:DevSecOps, Agile or CI/CD experience, or exposure to tools like Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, NodeJS, MongoDB, or Kafka.
