Job Description:

As a Principal Cyber Analyst, you will be tasked with visualising and communicating how Darktrace products have positively impacted our clients’ businesses. You will be in the thick of the action, analysing technical data to identify potential cyber threats and give our clients the peace of mind that they are protected by Darktrace’s suite of products.

This position is based out of our Cambridge or London Office, with expected attendance of 2 days a week.

What will I be doing:

This role offers candidates with strong technical backgrounds the opportunity to have high impact with customers and to the organisation, particularly when it comes to supporting the development of others. Key responsibilities:

  • Use the Darktrace suite of products to prepare and present a variety of customer-facing reports,

  • Investigate and communicate critical information about potential threats, ongoing compromises, and retrospective analysis of incidents internally and externally to clients,

  • Real-time analysis of emerging threats in the SOC team,

  • Confidently represent Analyst work and cyber security principles both internally and externally as required,

  • Lead customer facing engagements,

  • Act as a subject matter expert,

  • Proactively share knowledge to mentor and guide junior professionals,

  • Contribute to impactful projects that require an understanding of the wider business,

  • Collaborate with a broad internal network to influence a variety of stakeholders at an operational level

  • Identify areas for continuous improvement

This is a fast-paced role, so you need to make sure you're an organised, pro-active individual who is adaptable to change and comfortable wearing multiple hats.

What experience do I need:

Due to the nature of an ever-changing environment, we’re looking for someone who has a keen eye for detail, and strong deduction capabilities to analyse and problem solve technical issues which may arise. As a company that prides ourselves on our reactive capabilities, we are looking for someone who is able to work independently as part of a diverse team. You'll also:

  • Have previous experience in a Cyber, Research, Intelligence or Analysis role,

  • Deep technical knowledge of cybersecurity principles and technologies,

  • Be a team player with demonstrable aptitude at sharing knowledge and mentoring,

  • Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, with strong proven analytical and time management skills,

  • Have excellent communication skills, including both oral and written,

  • Be a strong tactical decision-maker, handling unforeseen issues and complex decisions.

Benefits:

  • 23 days’ holiday + all public holidays, rising to 25 days after 2 years of service,

  • Additional day off for your birthday,

  • Private medical insurance which covers you, your cohabiting partner and children,

  • Life insurance of 4 times your base salary,

  • Salary sacrifice pension scheme,

  • Enhanced family leave,

  • Confidential Employee Assistance Program,

  • Cycle to work scheme.

Where to Advertise Cyber Security Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise cyber security jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards, communities and channels that reach offensive, defensive and GRC security talent. The candidate pool is small, heavily vetted and in high demand across government, financial services, critical national infrastructure and the private sector simultaneously. Many of the strongest candidates hold active security clearances, are not actively job-searching through general platforms, and move primarily through specialist networks and trusted referrals. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that security professionals expect. Specialist platforms, government-affiliated channels and cleared candidate networks each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by CybersecurityJobs.tech, covers where to advertise cyber security roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.
