Penetration Tester (CHECK Team Member)

Remote UK | Client-site testing as required

An established and growing UK cyber security consultancy is expanding its technical security team and is looking for a CHECK Team Member to support penetration testing engagements across government and public sector environments.

This role offers exposure to varied client systems and technical challenges, with the opportunity to contribute to security assessments, identify weaknesses and help organisations strengthen their defences. It would suit a hands-on tester looking to develop their experience within a consultancy environment.

You'll work across a range of client engagements, assessing systems for security weaknesses and helping clients understand how to address them. Depending on the engagement, this may include:

• Conducting penetration tests against infrastructure, web applications, cloud services and Active Directory environments.

• Identifying, validating and documenting vulnerabilities and potential attack paths.

• Producing detailed technical reports, with practical recommendations for remediation.

• Communicating findings clearly to clients and supporting them in improving their security posture.

• Collaborating with colleagues to deliver high-quality testing services across a varied project portfolio.

• Current CHECK Team Member status.

• Active SC clearance, with a willingness to work towards DV clearance.

• Practical experience conducting penetration tests or technical security assessments.

• Working knowledge of infrastructure, web application, cloud or Active Directory testing.

• The ability to document findings and produce clear, technically accurate reports.

• A solid understanding of common vulnerabilities, exploitation techniques and security controls.

• £45,000-£55,000 salary

• Expenses covered for required client travel.

• Additional overnight bonus.

• 31 days' annual leave, including bank holidays and Christmas shutdown.

• One paid charity day per year.

• Option to take up to five additional unpaid days of annual leave.
