Operational Technology (OT) Cyber Security Consultant

• £70,000-£100,000 depending on experience
• UK-wide | Mostly remote with expensed client travel
• Active SC clearance and sole British nationality required

Help protect the systems and networks behind critical infrastructure and industrial operations.

A global consultancy is expanding its OT Cyber Security team, with opportunities at different levels of seniority. You'll work with clients across industries including defence, manufacturing, energy, utilities and transport, combining technical assessments with security assurance and advisory work.

Projects will vary according to your skills and experience, offering exposure to different operational environments and security challenges.

The role

• Assess OT systems and networks through site surveys, risk assessments, audits and gap analyses.
• Review security controls and recommend improvements to reduce cyber risk and strengthen operational resilience.
• Develop OT security policies, procedures and improvement roadmaps.
• Provide clear advice to technical and business stakeholders, acting as a trusted security advisor.
• Support security workshops, awareness and training.

What you'll bring

• Experience securing OT environments, with a strong understanding of industrial systems and networks.
• Hands-on exposure to technologies such as SCADA, PLCs, RTUs and HMIs.
• Experience conducting security assessments and translating findings into clear recommendations.
• Knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks, such as IEC 62443 and the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework.
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to explain technical risks in an operational and business context.
• Experience taking ownership of technical delivery, client engagements or teams appropriate to your seniority.

Working arrangements

Mostly remote, with travel to UK client sites depending on the project. Client travel expenses are covered.

Active SC clearance and sole British nationality are essential.
